Coach Implementation

Consistent implementation of intervention strategies is essential if positive outcomes are to be achieved.   It is often helpful to understand the reason why a plan is not being implemented.  Consider the following common reasons why plans are not implemented:

  1. Lack of contextual fit with the teacher/staff person's routines, confidence, skills and preferences.
  2. Too difficult and time consuming to figure out the plan and how to implement the strategies.
  3. The plan is too general or generic and does not provide specific guidance about what practices the teacher/staff person should be using.
  4. The teacher/staff person has a philosophical or value-based conflict with the strategies.
